We had the perfect life then everything changed almost in the blink of an eye. After Amelia was diagnosed, things moved so quickly and she was constantly in and out of hospital. We didn’t get a chance to be a family and do all the things you would expect to do with your child. But CHAS gave us something no-one else could – they gave us time with Amelia before and after she died. We got to make memories with her and be a family. We’ll forever be grateful to CHAS.
From our very first visit to Rachel House we felt at home and we felt safe. Leah is such a little character and loved the attention, especially from Gillian, her Keyworker. She calls Rachel House her “happy place” and says it always feels like being on holiday. She always checks the calendar every day to see how many sleeps until she can go back to her “happy place".
The CHAS Alphabet is bright and colourful and represents the joy we bring to families, as well as remembering loved ones.
Each letter has been individually designed by one of the children or young people we care for, or a family member. That means there is a very personal story behind every letter.
