Caring for a child with a life-shortening condition can put unimaginable demands on families – both physically and emotionally. It can be isolating and sometimes quite frightening. We’ll be with you along the way. Offering practical help and emotional support – from diagnosis, through to care, bereavement and beyond.
With many years of experience, we’ll work directly with you and the other health, social care and community professionals involved in looking after your child. Our services are delivered on top of any other support you already get. And, our services are free to families.
We offer a place where the whole family can enjoy a break from the challenges of day-to-day life. It means you can spend time together as a family in a way that’s meaningful to you.
Support will be developed – with the help of our Family Support Team – to suit your child and every member of your family. It can include practical help like sibling support and specialist play. Along with this, we can also offer emotional support and counselling.
Whatever kind of help you might need, we’ll be here for your whole family.
We use the GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child) principles to assess children and their family. This helps us to make sure that all needs are being properly met for every child.
