3,000 Squats in April!

Join our 30th anniversary celebrations as part of our latest virtual challenge event. Complete 100 squats a day, every day of April and fundraise for children with life-shortening conditions and families!

Can you complete an average of 100 squats a day (or more!) in April?

Help support children with life shortening conditions and their families while getting fit for 2022!

Starting on 1 April, you can take part wherever you are to complete 3,000 squats over the month. As you raise vital money through your Facebook fundraiser you'll be getting fitter and stronger.

To take part, join our Facebook group and follow the steps in the welcome post, where you can sign up for your FREE t-shirt, set up your Facebook fundraiser and let us know you're good to go!

The encouragement and support of the other participants will help you stay motivated throughout the challenge!

We've tried to answer as many questions you may have below, but if we've missed any, don't hesitate to email Louise on teamCHAS@chas.org.uk.

Do I have to complete 100 squats each day?

No, the goal is to do the 3,000 squats over the month of April. It is up to you how you take on this challenge.

How do I keep track of how many squats I’ve done?

You can write down how many squats you do at the end of each day on the paper tracker in your fundraising pack. Don’t forget to post in the Facebook group and on your Fundraising page too and let everyone know how you’re doing!

How do I prove that I have completed 3,000 squats?

As part of this challenge, you will be asked to set up a 3,000 Squats Facebook fundraising page for CHAS where you can post daily/weekly updates for your supporters. These pages are linked to CHAS and we'll be able to see your progress.

How do I set up my 3,000 squats fundraising page?

Visit this fundraiser link and wait for the pop-up to set up a page. Your banner and title will be set up for you, but feel free to personalise the 'About' section of your fundraiser.

Can I do more than 3,000 squats?

Yes! You can make your target whatever you want – you can make the challenge as hard as you want!

How do I register for my FREE t-shirt and fundraising pack?

You’ll find all the details in the Facebook group. If you’re not on Facebook don’t worry, email Louise on teamCHAS@chas.org.uk and we’ll help you out.

When will my t-shirt arrive?

We will be posting out packs throughout March. We will get this to you as soon as we can, although please be patient as we are still working from home and can only post out once per week.

Will I receive a medal for taking part in the event?

All participants will receive a CHAS t-shirt when they sign up for the event. There is no minimum fundraising amount but we ask that you try to raise as much vital funds as possible for CHAS. Anyone who raises over £150 will receive a medal after the event.

Do I have to set up a Facebook fundraiser?

Facebook fundraisers are the easiest way for you to fundraise. The funds raised are sent directly to the CHAS bank account and there are no fees involved.

Alternatively, you can set up a page on JustGiving – please make sure you call your page '3,000 Squats for CHAS'. Or you can use a sponsor sheet for collecting cash which you will find on the back of your welcome letter.

A friend accidentally donated to my Facebook fundraiser. Can you give them a refund?

Unfortunately we can’t issue refunds through Facebook but people can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:

Send them this link: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/162031714239823

  • Select - I donated to a fundraiser on Facebook
  • Select - I want a refund for my donation(s)
  • Select - I made a donation by accident and request the refund.

My friend who is not on Facebook would like to donate – how can they do this?

There are two options for them to support your fundraiser:

  • They can give you the cash or transfer you the funds (via PayPal, online banking etc) and you can add the donation to your fundraiser yourself.
  • They can donate directly to CHAS via https://www.chas.org.uk/donate - if they do this please ask them to put your name and "3k Squats 2022" in the message box so funds can be allocated correctly.

I requested a sponsor sheet – how do I send in the funds raised from this?

If you have raised money via a sponsor sheet then you can:

I want to complete the challenge as a team – how do I do this?

To do this Facebook suggests you can add up to three friends to be organizers of your fundraiser to help you manage it and rally more supporters to reach your fundraising goals.

First create your Fundraiser on Facebook and then by clicking the three dots next to the "share" button you can add organisers.
