Rejoice and Sing - Springfield Cambridge Festival Chorus and Orchestra

We’re thrilled to announce the Springfield Cambridge Festival Chorus and Orchestra's Christmas concert, a tradition that has been described by regular attendees as "the start of Christmas".

This year's concert is taking place at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday, 23 December 2024 at 7.00pm.

The Bishopbriggs-based chorus, which boasts a 140-strong ensemble, a 45-piece orchestra, a Junior Chorus, and soloists, has been delighting audiences at the Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall since 2002. Under the leadership of renowned Scottish composer and conductor Alan A Craig, the group presents a feast of festive music with Hollywood-style accompaniments.

This year's concert, titled "Rejoice and Sing", promises to continue the tradition of bringing the latest popular arrangements of traditional and contemporary music to Glasgow music lovers. As always, there will be opportunities for the orchestra, choirs, and audience to join in some roof-raising communal carol singing.

The Springfield Cambridge concerts have a noble cause at their heart: raising funds for CHAS. To date, the generosity of audiences and performing artists has resulted in over £465,000 being donated.

Even, in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Springfield Cambridge Festival Chorus and Orchestra demonstrated resilience and adaptability by hosting online concerts. These virtual events, streamed live on YouTube, allowed the group to continue their fundraising efforts, raising an incredible £20,000. This innovative approach ensured that the music played on, and the spirit of giving remained strong even in challenging times.

All ticket profits and donations from "Rejoice and Sing" are donated to CHAS.

Don't miss your chance to secure tickets to one of the most beautiful nights in the Glasgow music calendar.
